Hokkori

About

Hokkori (ほっこり) is a Japanese word for the quiet, warm feeling you get from a small kindness or a good moment. Hokkori shows heartwarming news stories gathered from news sites in about 45 countries. Each day holds as many stories as clear the bar, up to fifty, and then it stops. Some days are longer than others.

How stories are chosen

Every story in the sources below is read by a judgement model (Jev) that answers a few yes/no questions: would a reader feel warm after this, is it about kindness or an animal, is it mainly about a tragedy, politics, or promotion. Only stories that clear the measured thresholds are shown, at most fifty a day and at most four from one source. Nobody writes or rewrites the stories here.

What you see on a card

The headline, the publisher's own summary from their feed, and the publisher's preview image, linked to the original article. Nothing is copied beyond that, and every card leads to the source.
